Quake survivors benefit from free health camp; receive warm clothes
Melamchi / January 10: A free health care camp was conducted at remote Listi VDC in Sindhupalchowk district on Saturday, targeting the earthquake survivors.
An INGO called ‘Farak Soch’ organised the health care camp and provided medicines for free to the needy. Organisation’s Chairman Shangbu Sherpa said that the locals were given dental, paediatrics and others services. Sherpa said that as high as 600 locals benefitted from the camp.
Lawmaker Mohan Bahadur Basnet, who was also present in the health care camp, said that the quake-hit people have realised a great sigh of relief after the operation of the health camp. Most of the locals visiting the health camp were children and elderly as well as the patients cold related sickness, it is reported.
Meanwhile, Earthquake affected families at Aruarbang VDC in Gorkha district have been provided with warm clothes today.
A total of 250 quake-hit families living under the huts were given blankets, caps and other warm clothes from the Rotary Club of Pokhara, according to a local resident Amrita Gurung.
The earthquake survivors were passing their nighttimes by burning firewood to keep themselves warm in the chilling nights. Earlier, sixty-year-old Lal Bahadur Baram of Aruarbang VDC-1 died of freezing cold. RSS
