International investors keen on Nepal

Nepal Chamber of CommerceKathmandu / February 26: Nepal Chamber of Commerce has said the investors from international sectors have shown keen interest on Nepal.

During the meetings with the representatives of the Chamber in India, the international investors wondered why Nepal failed to attract investment from neighbouring country.

Chamber Chairperson Rajesh Kaji Shrestha said the investors though willing to invest in Nepal were not satisfied with the discouraging investment atmosphere.

Similarly, Chamber Vice-Chair Rajendra Malla said Nepal’s economic diplomacy failed to take space owing to instable politics and ineffective diplomacy.

Industrialist Rajan Sharma also attributed the despair on foreign investors to the botched up domestic politics.

On the occasion, Secretary at the Ministry of Commerce, Ngaeindra Prasad Upadhyay said Nepal should first mend the political fissures which would help augment foreign investment. RSS
