Herd of horses break out onto Tennessee street
February 26: A herd of more than 20 horses broke loose from a Tennessee stable and hit the streets on Friday morning.
Sevierville Police Department warned drivers of the escape in a series of tweets as the horses ran through an area near a local mall.
“Traffic officers are in route to the area of Five Oaks Mall, we have horses running loose,” they wrote.
Pigeon Forge Parkway was shut down for a brief period of time as officers from Sevierville and Pigeon Forge police departments attempted to gather the approximately 20 horses running wild in the area.
“I was so mad because I thought there was some accident, and I drove up into the middle of dozens of horses,” witness Marvyl Cockrell told WBIR.
Police were able to corral the horses and reopen the street by around 8:30 a.m. No horses or people were injured and no accidents occurred due to the escape. UPI
