‘Kisan call centre’ comes into operation from today

Farmland NepalKathmandu / February 28: Gone are those days when farmers especially in remote areas had to move from pillar to post to resolve problems in their farms and agriculture due to lack of experts.

A ‘Kisan Call Centre’ has been brought into operation from today through which farmers will be provided with skills and tools to resolve problems with regards to agriculture.

Introduced by the Ministry of Agricultural Development, retired agriculture technicians, experts and investigators from universities will be available on the phone to provide farmers with needed skills and tools.

Besides, farmers can also inquire about questions related to agriculture.

The new technology has come into operation from today after farmer Rajesh Rimal Chhetri from Parbat inquired with Minister for Agricultural Development Haribol Gajurel about a question related to agriculture.

The service has been set up in the Agriculture Information and Communications Centre.

Director General at Agriculture Department Yubakdhoj JC said the service aimed at spreading agriculture publicity service across the country will run for three days in a week (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 11 am to 4 pm).

Farmers from anywhere across the country can call at toll-free number 16600195000 and inquire with experts about their problems with regard to agriculture. RSS
