Writ filed against scribbling and stitching of banknote
Kathmandu / March 10: A writ petition has been filed at the Supreme Court demanding an order to ban scribbling on and stitching of banknotes.
Advocates Anant Raj Luitel, Manoj Kumar Khadka, Prabindra Raj Joshi and Rudra Prasad Pathak jointly filed the writ petition on Thursday, naming the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Finance Ministry and Nepal Rastra Bank as defendants.
The advocates have, in their petition, argued that keeping scribbled, stitched/pierced and worn out banknotes infringed upon the bearers’ rights to property. RSS
