Bar election concludes

Nepal Bar AssociationKathmandu, April 2: Nepal Bar Association, an umbrella organisation of legal practitioners, Saturday concluded the election of a new leadership peacefully. According to election committee chief election officer Harishankar Niraula, the election was held across the country peacefully.

A total of 71 candidates are in the race of a 25-member new NBA working committee. Out of 9522 NBA m embers, 7,845 voters were dropped.

Deputy Prime Minister Bhim Rawal , Industry Minister Somnath Pandey, former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand, former Home Minister Govinda Raj Joshi and former Speakers Damanath Dhungana and Subash Nembang also cast their votes. It is expected to take next four to five days to announce the election results, Niraula said. RSS
