Yugkavi Siddhicharan award to Sikkim’s Chief Minister Chamling

Pawan ChamlingKathmandu / April 6: Yugkavi Siddhicharan Foundation has decided to present the Yugkavi Siddhicharan Award for 2073 BS to incumbent Chief Minister of Sikkim, India and noted litterateur Pawan Kumar Chamling.

A meeting of the Foundation’s executive committee held Wednesday decided to present the award to Chamling. It will be presented on the 105th birth anniversary of the great poet of Nepali literature Shrestha on coming May 22. Foundation Vice-Chair Prof Dr Mohan Lohani chaired the meeting. The award carries a purse of Rs 100,000 and a letter of appreciation.

Besides his active political career in India, Chamling, a Nepali language writer, has authored Prambhik Kabitaharu (an anthology of poems; 1978), Antahin Sapana: Mero Bipana (Perennial Dream and My Reality- a collection of poems: 1985) , Ma ko Hun ( a collection of poems: 1985) and Sikkim Ra Nariko Maryada, among others.
