2nd summit of health scientists kicks off

Nepal Health Research CouncilKathmandu / April 10: The second summit of the health and population scientists began in the capital city Sunday. Nepal Health Research Council is organising the summit on its 26th anniversary under the theme ‘Health and Population Research for sustainable Development.’

More than 600 health and population scientists from the country and abroad are participating in the summit. However, President Bidya Devi Bhandari, is scheduled to formally inaugurate the event on Monday.

Executive Member Secretary of the Council, Dr Khem Bahadur Karki, said some four dozens of working papers would be presented in the summit.

“Encouraging young scientists, researchers and experts for achieving sustainable development goals by gathering experts of health and science sector at the one place is our goal,” Dr Karki stressed.

The NHRC further said the summit would be fruitful to formulate plan and policies on the health and population receiving suggestions from the stakeholders.

Meanwhile, Nepal Radiologists’ Society has postponed its protest programme for one week. The Society however staged sit-in at the Health Ministry on Sunday putting forth various demands. The protest programme was withdrawn after the Ministry assured to find out solution within a week. Some 300 radiologists from across the country joined the sit-in. RSS
