Bhaktapur locals panicking over leopard menace

snow leopardKathmandu / May 30: The people from Sudal Budhathoki village of Nagarkot municipality-4 have been panicked after a leopard has migrated to a bamboo bush near the village for a week.

The leopard with four cubs has spread terror among the people here, limiting their mobility especially in the morning and evening, said Raju Subedi, Chairperson of the Mahendragram Higher Secondary School Management Committee.

“The bamboo bush is located in the very way most of the households have to cross by. Even the students have left coming to schools. Cultivation in field has also been affected,” he added.

Another local and central member of CPN (UML) Som Mishra also said the District Forest Office was repeatedly urged to take away the leopard, but it has not heeded the request. All people are fearing of attack, he added. RSS
