Tourists swim in 17th century Roman fountain

TouristsJuly 16: A group of three women dressed in bikinis upset locals by swimming in a 17th century fountain in Rome.

Twitter account TrastevereRM shared photos of the tourists in the Fontana dell’Acqua Paola and criticized them for not respecting the landmark.

“It is very hot but the fontanone del Gianicolo cannot become a pool x tourists Rome deserves more respect!” They wrote.

Several angry Twitter users responded, calling the women “rude” and suggesting people perform similar acts in England or Germany as retaliation.

According to The Local, swimming in the fountain can result in a fine of up to 200 Euros ($221) if caught by police. Upi.com
