Government releasing Rs 750 million for rescue, relief distribution
Kathmandu / July 27: The government has decided to release Rs 750 million immediately for rescue works and relief distribution to the survivors of the floods and landslides across the country.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Wednesday took the decision, said Minister for Information and Communications and Spokesperson of the government, Sherdhan Rai.
He added that the government expressed deep grief over the loss of lives and properties in the disasters and paid tribute to those losing lives in the floods and landslides.
According to the Spokesperson, the local administration, government bodies and security agencies have been urged to work in unison and conduct rescue activities and provide relief to the needy people at this tragic period. The government also wished speedy recovery of those injured in the disasters.
Those rendered homeless after floods, landslides and inundations would be provided necessary monetary help based on the loss they incurred.
The security persons involved in the rescue, relief and rehabilitation activities were thanked by the government.
Meanwhile, the government decided to provide 200 hectares of land currently owned by Shankarnagar community forest and the Kahariya community forest of Tilottama municipality (Rupandehi) to the Teaching Hospital to be constructed under the Tribhuvan University. The Hospital would be named the Gautam Buddha Teaching Hospital, Rupandehi, informed the Spokesperson. RSS
