Syafru-Rasuwagadhi Highway resumes

rasuwaRasuwa / July 31: The Syafru-Rasuwagadhi Highway that was disrupted for a week has resumed from Sunday noon.

A total of 80 goods-laden containers have passed through the Highway to Nepali side that was open since 4:00 pm, according to Chief of the Armed Police Border Force, Darshan Giri.

With the resumption of the Highway the only trading point with China in north, Rasuwagadhi Trade Point, the Chinese side has started sending their freights to Nepal.

One of the Chinese transportation giants Musa Transportation’s Managing Director Zhang Shi Ping informed that freights were being brought to Kyirong, Chinese bordering town with Nepal, from Chinese industrial centres as they came to know about the resumption of the Highway.

Revenue worth Rs 4.7 million was collected on the first day at the Rasuwagadhi Custom and is expected to collect Rs 160 million by mid-August, according to Rasuwa Custom Chief Kedar Paneru. RSS
