NEA collects Rs 90 million in arrears, cuts power supply line of 4,842 defaulters

NEAKathmandu / Sept 2: Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has raised more than Rs 90 million in arrears since August 19.

The Authority has so far disconnected the power supply lines to a total of 4,843 consumers in various parts of the country for not clearing their arrears within a stipulated time, according to the Authority’s Distribution and Consumer Service Directorate.

Executive Director of NEA Mukeshraj Kafle shared that arrears amounting to Rs 230 million plus was yet to be raised from rest of the non-payers consumers.

In the latest series of action by the Authority, electricity line of 107 non-payers receiving power supply from the NEA’s regional office in Hetauda was cut off on Friday.

The Authority has also warned of taking action against those within the Authority providing power supply to those whose supply line has been cut off for arrears.

NEA that has been lately tightening the noose against those customers failing to clear their arrears on time is also taking action against the public offices not paying their tariff. RSS
