Agriculture Campus to be established in every district

Agriculture UniversityKathmandu / Oct 25: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has shared that preparation is underway to establish at least one agriculture campus in each district.

Prime Minister Dahal said this in a meeting with an all-side delegation that submitted a memorandum demanding establishment of an Agriculture Campus in Punarbas of Kanchanpur on Tuesday.

He also shared the government’s efforts towards enhancing quality of education in the agriculture sector. “The tasks of establishing university in different parts of the country took headway when I was Prime Minister first time. This time I have realized that I should initiate some quality reforms works. Preparation is underway to establish at least one public college in each district”.

Without investments in agriculture sector the establishment of foundation for self-reliant economy would not be possible, he said, adding that a process to establish Agriculture Colleges would initiate soon.

The delegation had demanded the government provide 65 bighas of land in the name of National Residence Company in Punarbas of Kanchanpur to the Agriculture Campus.

The delegation comprises former minister and CPN-Maoist Centre leader Lekh Raj Bhatta, Vice-Chancellor of Sudurpaschim University Prof Bhushan Shrestha and Coordinator of ad hoc committee formed for the establishment of Agriculture College, Ram Chanda Nepal, among others. RSS
