Lawmaker Tuladhar bags International Award

Kathmandu / Dec 23: Former Education Minister and CPN (UML) lawmaker, Dr Gangalal Tuladhar has received international award for outstanding dissertation.

The Shimane University of Japan conferred the award on Dr Tuladhar in recognition of his Ph. D. dissertation. The award carries a purse of Rs 130 thousand and a citation. Dr Tuladhar is the first person from Nepal to bag the international award.

Mr Fawu Wang, Director of the Geo-Disaster Reduction Department, Shimane University of Japan, presented the award to Dr Tuladhar amidst a programme here today.

Dr Tuladhar’s Ph D thesis is on disaster risk management based on a study carried out in 19 districts of Nepal covering the mountainous, hilly and Tarai regions. It was also published in international journals. RSS
