World Record 150 Santas tandem parachute in Australia
Dec 24: More than 100 Australians participated in a series of tandem parachute jumps while dressed up as Santa Claus.
The 150 Santas added the holiday twist to their Guinness World Record attempt for “Most tandem parachute jumps in eight hours.”
The stunt was part of experience gift retailer RedBalloon Christmas marketing campaign to raise funds for children’s cancer charity Camp Quality.
“RedBalloon is all about creating moments and that’s something we definitely achieved today. We hope that each and every participant had fun and relished the opportunity to tick skydiving off their bucket list, and leaves today with another great Christmas memory,” RedBalloon CEO Nick Baker said.
In addition to claiming the new tandem parachute jumping record, the event managed to raise a total of $5,000.
“We loved being a part of this very special Guinness World Records event and it was great to see the smiles on the faces of our Camp Quality families,” Camp Quality Regional Manager – ACT/Illawarra Sonia Cameron said.
In 2015 RedBalloon gathered 320 Australians dressed as Santa Claus to break the record for the largest surfing lesson.
“We broke the Guinness World Records title for the world’s largest surf lesson last year and had such a blast that we wanted to do something even more thrilling this year,” Baker said. “It’s becoming a bit of a RedBalloon Christmas tradition.” Upi.com
