Job of the Federal Parliament is to make laws: Minister Pandit

Biratnagar, June 2/ Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Lal Babu Pandit has said the job of the Federal Parliament is to make laws.

Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport today, he said the members of the federal parliament should play the role as only supporters in the Rs 40 million that the government has allocated in the budget for the development of every constituency.
He further added that the government was yet to bring the necessary guidelines regarding spending the amount.

The General Administration Minister informed that employees to the 95 per cent top posts of the local bodies have been deputed and they have been carrying out their works. Employees to the remaining posts would be dispatched to their respective workstations by June 15 and provide services to the people.

Noting that the voluntary retirement scheme for the government employees has now been put on hold and 2,000 employees have retired under regular retirement process so far while the rest have already started their process.

Minister Pandit stated that the Federal Civil Service Bill related to the employees has been sent to the Ministry of Law. He further added that too many employees unions were not needed in the civil service and suggested having only one elected employees’ organisation.

Stating that the province public service commission would be set up at the province level for recruitment of employees in the provinces, he said employees could be recruited only in some necessary technical posts for now. RSS
