Mustang mishap: 20 bodies sent to Pokhara

Parbat, July 7: The bodies of the 20 people who died in a road accident in Mustang on Friday have been sent to Pokhara.

Fifteen bodies lying at the accident site and five from the district hospital were sent to Pokhara this morning via a Nepali Army helicopter, according to Chief District Officer of Mustang Shishir Poudel. The bodies were sent to Pokhara as none of the deceased were from Mustang.

On Friday evening, seven injured were airlifted to Pokhara for treatment while five others are still undergoing treatment at the district hospital, Mustang.

The fatal accident involving a tipper (Ba. 2 Kha. 2219) took place at around 2:00 pm yesterday at Syangboche in Damodarkunda rural municipality-3 along the Beni-Jomsom-Korala road.
