Ishwor Pokhrel to lead NCP’s School Department

Kathmandu / August 16: The ruling Nepal Communist Party has finally named the heads of various departments within the party.

The secretariat meeting held at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Friday has finalized the chiefs of thirty-three departments.

According to the spokesperson of the NCP Narayan Kaji Shrestha, of 33, the former CPN-UML faction got the responsibility of 19 while the rest 14 were handed over to former CPN Maoist Center group.

Deputy Prime Minister and Ministry for Defense Ishwar Pokhrel has been named the chief of the contentious school department.

The meeting named Madhav Kumar Nepal and Ram Karki as the chief and deputy chief of Foreign Department respectively. Similarly, Narayan Kaji Shrestha will lead the Department of Publicity while Jhalanath Khanal and Surendra Pandey to spearhead Policy and Finance Department respectively.

The meeting has also proposed Bam Dev Gautam as the Vice-Chairperson.
