Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives Kathmandu

Kathmandu / Oct 12: Chinese President Xi Jinping landed in Kathmandu on a two-day state to Nepal on Saturday afternoon.

President Bidya Devi Bhandari received Xi at VVIP lounge, Tribhuvan International Airport.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and cabinet ministers are present at the airport to welcome Xi and his delegation. The Chinese president arrived wrapping up his two-day informal talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held in Chennai, the southern city of India.

Bhandari and Xi are inspecting a guard of honor at the TIA. The Chinese high-powered delegation led by Xi will proceed to Hotel Soaltee. Bhandari and Xi are holding bilateral talks at Sheetal Niwas later today.

Bhandari is hosting a banquet in honor of Xi and his delegation at Hotel Soaltee today evening. Nepali Congress President Deuba is scheduled to meet Xi briefly ahead of the banquet.
