258 billion remittance in three months, Up by 12.6 %

Kathmandu / Nov. 25: Nepal received Rs 258 billion in remittance in the first three months of the current fiscal year. This is an increase by 12.6 per cent as compared to the same period last year.

Nepal Rastra Bank has stated that the first three months of the current fiscal year saw an increase even though the countries popular for labour destination of Nepali workers were affected by the coronavirus.

The data made public by NRB today showed that the remittance inflow grew by 7.6 per cent in US dollars while it was decreased by 4.7 per cent last year. However, in the review period, the number of people applying first time for permission of foreign employment decreased by 96.8 percent. It had decreased by 3.7 percent in the same period last year.

Similarly, in the review period, the rate of second time application for the job abroad dropped by 78.6 percent. RSS
