Harka Sampang registers new party ‘Shram Sanskriti Party’ at EC

Kathmandu / Sept. 28: Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City Mayor Harka Raj Rai, popularly known as Harka Sampang, has applied to register a new political party named Shram Sanskriti Party at the Election Commission(EC).

According to the EC’s Information Officer Suman Ghimire, the application was filed on September 28. “An application has been received for party registration under the name Shram Sanskriti Party with Harka Raj Rai as chairperson,” Ghimire confirmed, adding that the party is still under review and has not been officially registered yet.

Sampang had previously announced his intention to form his own political party but had not revealed that the process with the EC was already underway. The commission said the registration could be finalized after the Dashain holidays if all required procedures are fulfilled.
