Paddy sales in Nepalgunj Slow

Siraj Khan / Nepalgunj, Jan 10: Purchases of rice by the Food Management and Trading Company Ltd of Banke has been found too slow.

The company started to purchase 30 quintals of paddy from 10 farmers in a day however it has now purchased 4500 quintals in 20 days.

Chief of the Food Management and Trading Company Limited, Nepalgunj, Ramsaran Lamichhane said that quota is fixed for all 8 municipalities. Out of the target of 25000 quintals target, only 4500 quintals paddy is purchased from 160 farmers.

One of the paddy seller of Khajura-5 ,Kedar Ahir said that only 30 quintals sold from the permission of Agriculture Section. He asked to increase quota to 50 quintals.

The government has fix coarse paddy price to Rs 2967 per quintal and medium variety paddy of Rs 3128 per quintal.
