Govt. firm on prevention, control and abolition of any type of corruption, says PM Oli

Kathmandu / Aug 6: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has asserted that the government was firm in its commitment of preventing, controlling and ending any form of corruption.

Clarifying about the objectives and reasons of amending the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059, in today’s meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee under the House of Representatives, Prime Minister Oli reiterated that the incumbent government was committed to root out the corruption.

He stressed, “Zero tolerance for corruption is the government’s policy. It is compulsion to control corruption to fulfill the national aspiration- ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’. I will not involve in corruption and will not allow others too.”

Sharing that amendment to the Act was necessary to control corruption and maintain good governance, PM Oli mentioned that to head the country towards the path of prosperity was his goal.

He underlined that government’s first priority was to ensure social justice and maintain peace and security, adding the government was active keeping the nation and people at the centre.

Prime Minister Oli opined that the government was effortful to establish the norm that all are equal in the eyes of the law. RSS
