Visiting Indian Foreign Secretary Misri pays courtesy calls on President Paudel and Prime Minister Oli

Kathmandu / Aug 11: Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who is currently on a two-day visit to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The meeting was held at PM’s office, Singha Durbar on Sunday. They conferred on strengthening bilateral and friendly relations between Nepal and India.

The meeting was also attended by Foreign Secretary Sewa Lamsal and high level officials.

Foreign Secretary of India Vikram Misri, who is on a two-day Nepal visit, paid a courtesy call on President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Sunday.

Foreign Secretary Misri called on President Paudel at Sheetal Niwas, Kathmandu, the Office of the President, in the afternoon.

According to Kiran Pokharel, the press adviser to the President, Paudel stressed on the need for the two countries working in collaboration on issues like climate change and global warming.

Similarly, the Indian foreign secretary paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Oli at the Prime Minister’s Office at Singha Durbar.

“Various matters of mutual interest were discussed on the occasion,” said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nepal.

Misri reaffirmed India and Nepal’s civilizational, close and multifaceted relationship and discussed ways to provide an impetus to various sectors of bilateral cooperation, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu said.

Foreign Secretary Misri arrived in Kathmandu on Sunday on a two-day Nepal visit at the invitation of his Nepali counterpart Sewa Lamsal.

During his visit, he is scheduled to hold discussions with the finance minister, urban development minister, and foreign minister of Nepal.

This visit underscores India’s commitment to its relationship with Nepal, a key element of its Neighborhood First policy, according to the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu.
