NHRC’s call to conclude peace process soon


Kathmandu / Nov 19: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the government to complete the peace process soon by forming a trustworthy commission.

Likewise, the NHRC has urged the government to focus on the concerns of the victims and implement its past recommendation.

The NHRC has asked to finalize the peace process in line with the international practices and values.

Issuing a press statement today on 18 years of the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Accord (CPA) by the government and the then rebel CPN (Maoist), the NHRC Spokesperson Dr Tikaram Pokhrel has drawn government attention to meet the national and international commitments made to provide justice to the victims.

Likewise, the press statement mentioned that NHRC has taken positively to the advancement of the process for the constitution of commissions after passing the Transitional Justice Bill from the parliament. RSS
