144,000 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in stock: Agriculture Ministry

Kathmandu / May 21: The Ministry of Agriculture, Forest and Environment has stated that there is currently 144,803.25 metric tons of chemical fertilizers in stock.
Chief of the Agricultural Development Division and Joint Secretary Dr Ramkrishna Shrestha shared that there is no shortage of fertilizers at the moment as the stock fertilizers are being distributed.
Stating that there has been a delay in the arrival of the fertilizers due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, he expressed confidence that the 491,000 metric tons of fertilizers will arrive as soon as the obstruction in the Strait of Hormuz is lifted.
The agriculture ministry has stated that the price of fertilizers has increased compared to the previous year due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
Joint Secretary Shrestha also encouraged farmers to use organic fertilizers as much as possible to protect the health of the soil.
