FMTC to run fair price outlets at 193 places in 44 districts

Kathmandu / Aug 12: The Food Management and Trading Company (FMTC) is running fair price or budget-friendly stores across the country from Thursday.

FMTC Spokesman Madhav Mishra said that these budget-friendly stores will be operated in 193 locations across 44 districts. At these stores, consumers will get a discount of five rupees per kilogram or liter on daily essentials.

The sales counters are being set up in connection with the company’s seventh anniversary, with the aim of increasing consumer access to their products.

The company, active in providing essential goods and consumables like food grain, is celebrating its seventh anniversary on Thursday.

In this connection it is opening a sales counter in the Singha Durbar premises in Kathmandu as well.

Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Supplies Gauri Kumari is scheduled to inaugurate the sales store on Thursday.

Mishra said that consumers will be able to get all the company’s products at affordable rates through the sales counter operating inside Singha Durbar.

The company has been selling food items like rice, lentils, cooking oil, sugar, salt, as well as local food grains like wheat, barley, buckwheat, and millet. RSS
