NC ready to mediate for sorting out Madhes problems: NC Vice-Prez Poudel
Kathmandu / November 10: Nepali Congress’ Acting President Ramchandra Poudel has said his party was ready to play a role of facilitator between the government and agitating Madhes-centric parties to address voices of Madhes raised in favour of social justice, equity, rights and respects.
Taking part at an interaction programme on economic revolution and inclusiveness organised jointly by the Social Democracy Study Center and Ganeshman Singh Foundation here Tuesday on the occasion of the 101 birth anniversary of Nepal’s democratic movement’s Iron Man Ganeshman Singh, Acting President Poudel said unjust treatment to Madhesi people has provoked for the Madhes movement, drawing attention of all political leaders to improve their perception towards them.
Negligence of suggestions and road map shown by veteran leader Ganeshman Singh regarding the agendas of economic revolution and inclusion by the party leadership has caused loss to the party, he lamented. Democracy can be stabilized if all castes and communities were equally treated by the state, he argued.
Founding Chairman of the foundation and Nepali Congress General Secretary Pakash Man Singh said time has come for the country to bring all forces together for economic revolution as the country has got the new constitution.
He reminded that the late Iron Man Ganesh Man Singh was for the rights to all to enjoy equal benefits of the democracy got through political struggles.
Central member of the party Pradip Giri said the late leader Ganesh Man used to advocate for exposing the wrongdoings of the parties in rule.
Another central member Padma Narayan Chaudhari said the Madhes agitation was begun all because of the political and diplomatic weaknesses.
Women rights activist, Dr Durga Pokharel, remembered late Iron Man as the leader with rigorous adherence to ideology and advocacy against treachery in the party. RSS
