Former NA officials express concern over prevailing scenario

NA interactionKathmandu, Nov 29: Nepal Army on Sunday sought necessary feedbacks from its former officials in connection with the country’s contemporary scenario.

At an interaction held at the NA Headquarters, former Chief of Army Staffs (CoAS) and retired generals expressed serious concern towards the emerging and prevailing unease in the country, said NA Public Relations Directorate.

Terming the current scenario seen in Tarai-Madhes as a political problem, the former NA officials expressed confidence that it would be resolved politically at the earliest.

The former NA officials suggested that the national army must stay prepared and at standby for protecting Nepal’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, self-dependence and national unity, and for protecting the people’s lives and property adhering to the constitutional system and process, and in line with the prevailing situation as well as necessity, a statement released by NA Public Relations Directorate stated.

On the occasion, interaction was also held on the army’s present condition, future course of action and subjects related to the national army in an informative way.

The officials also discussed ground level realities through NA’s various directorates, Chief of Army Staff’s command and instruction, NA’s future policy and plan, welfare programmes and other contemporary issues.

NA believes that the creative acknowledgements, advises and suggestions coming from the former army chiefs and generals – who have worked in the organization acquiring long experience, knowledge and skills – would help to further strengthen and enhance the capability of the NA, it is stated.
