Winners of SAG honoured
Kathmandu / February 23: Nepal Judo Association the athletes winning medals in judo in the recently concluded 12th South Asian Games (SAG) in India amid a programme organised in the Capital on Tuesday. The coaches and the managers were also honoured.
Member Secretary at the National Sports Council Keshab Kumar Bista gave away Rs 50,000 to the athletes, who bagged gold in the competition. Likewise, those clinching silver were provided with Rs 30,000 in cash each, while Rs 20,000 was given away each to those who managed to secure bronze.
Phupulhamu Khatri secured gold in the tournament while Lila Adhikari and Manita Shrestha got silvers each.
Likewise, Sarita Chaudhary, Ganga Chaudhary, Punam Shrestha, Indra Bahadur Shrestha, Ramesh Magar and Shiva Bahadur Baram bagged bronze medals each.
Likewise, coaches Dal Bahadur Gurung and Indra Dangol were also given away with Rs 20,000 each, while the managers Debu Thapa and Ganga Bahadur Khadka were provided with Rs 15,000 each.
Likewise, NJA Chairman Dipak Harsha Bajracharya also provided the winners, coaches and the managers with carpet worth around Rs 104,000.
Similarly, Bista praised the contribution of the athletes and their performances in the competition.
Nepal managed to secure 60 medals in total in the entire competition (three gold medals, 23 silver and 34 bronze). RSS
