Minister Rai directs telecom officials to improve services
Kathmandu / February 24: Minister for Information and Communications, Sherdhan Rai, has directed Nepal Telecom (NT) to improve its services.
Minister Rai summoned NT high-level officials including Managing Director Buddhi Acharya at the ministry today and directed them to improve the services as service recipients have been complaining over the Telecom services.
He also enquired about efforts carried out by the organisation to improve its services in the past.
Matrika Poudel, Minister Rai’s press advisor, said Minister Rai asked the team to provide quality service within a month prioritising Kathmandu as first starting place for the same purpose.
On the occasion, Minister Rai also said that the 3G service should be expanded across the country and asked the NT officials for coming up with plans to switch to 4G by replacing 2G service.
In response, Acharya said that there is problem in network as NT’s base transceiver station (BTS) tower goes down due to load-shedding, adding that works are on to manage efficient back-up. RSS
