Ashish Journalism Award to Chapagain

Ilam / April 8: The Ilam Chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has decided to present this year’s Ashish Memorial Journalism Award to journalist Bhim Chapagain.

A meeting of FNJ Ilam Chapter held on Thursday decided to give away the award to journo Chapagain. Chapter Chairperson Rohit Chandra Bhattarai said that the decision was made to hand over the award on coming April 13 on the occasion of the 12th memorial year of the late Rai.

Chapagain hailing from Soyang-9 has been in journalism practice since 2005. Rai, who was serving the Radio Nepal as a correspondent from Ilam, died while swimming in the Maikhola of Ilam on Nepali New Year some 13 years back.

FNJ Ilam has instituted a revolving fund in memory of journalist Rai and has been providing award of cash Rs 5,000 to an emerging journalist of Mechi zone. RSS
