Development begins when leadership shuns craving: Regmi; Nemwang terms ‘Nepal’s constitution excellent in the globe’
Kathmandu / April 9: Former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Khilraj Regmi, said Nepal’s development takes pace once the political leaderships shun craving for personal benefit.
He made such view at a programme organized in honour of the chairpersons of Nepal Jaycees across the country. Time has come for the politicians to keep the country and people in centre, he suggested.
The former Chairperson of the Council of Ministers reminded that during his chairmanship of the government, his team worked for 16 hours a day to make the Constituent Assembly election successful.
On the occasion, founder chairperson of Nepal Jaycees, Dr Bhesh Bahadur Thapa, suggested Nepal Jaycees to launch a pressure programme to resolve problems in the country.
Meanwhile, addressing a program in Butwal, former Chairperson of Constituent Assembly (CA) Subas Chandra Nembang has termed Nepal’s Constitution excellent and inclusive across the globe.
He stressed the need for all Nepali to unite to cut through unnecessary rumours and misconceptions propping up against the constitution which was promulgated at the consent of more than 90 per cent members of the CA. Nembang, a UML leader, said this while addressing a gathering of frontline cadres organized by his party’s Rupandehi constituency number 4 committee in Butwal on Saturday.
Nembang, also the UML Standing Committee member, called for all to engage coordinated efforts in the campaign of building prosperous nation by implementing the constitution.
He further said that the constitution was promulgated after a consistent discussion, dialogue and perseverance for five years and eight months. Nembang also hinted at a senior minister of the government for spreading rumour about constitution in the parliament of a foreign country.
The former Speaker also said he had received information that more than 2,000 Indian origin-girls have so far received naturalized citizenship certificate in 20 Terai districts of Nepal since the new constitution was promulgated. RSS
