Acceleration of reconstruction task stressed

ReconstructionKathmandu / April 13: The civil society representatives have demanded the government that it arranged shelters to the quake survivors before rainy season, and accelerated the reconstruction activities.

The civil society representatives demanded this at a programme organised by the Bright Nepal in the capital city Wednesday.

On the occasion, Minister for Industry, Som Prasad Pandey, expressed the view that role of the civil society was significant. The government has decided to ensure budget necessary for the reconstruction.

Parliamentarian Geeta Rana said although the civil society has not been able to pay attention to all sectors after the last year earthquakes, it reached to quake survivors with relief materials very early.

Nepal chapter chairman of the Amnesty International, Surya Bahadur Adhikari, said the government should take the reconstruction task seriously. He complained that reconstruction drive was very slow.

Different people including comedian Shree Krishna Simkhada, Bright Nepal Chair Poonam Dev demanded relief materials to the quake survivors before rainy season.

Journalists including the National News Agency (RSS)’s Krishna Raj Gautam were honoured for their support in relief distribution through media. RSS
