Overseas Nepali support for free Wi-Fi in Myagdi

Beni (Myagdi) /April 20: The International Executive Committee of Myagdi Overseas Nepali Association (MONA) is providing financial assistance of Rs 1 million for much-awaited project ‘Free Wi-Fi’ to expand internet access to entire parts of Myagdi.

The office-bearers of the Association have raised the fund of Rs 1.05 million to leverage the ‘Myagdi with Internet Campaign’ initiated by Myagdi District Development Committee, Digital Literacy Campaigner Dr Mahabir Pun and Myagdi Overseas Association.

Among the contributors from the MONA are its founder President Prakash Pun (Rs 200,000), President Yogendra Bahadur Chhetri (Rs 200,000), senior Vice-President Binod Kunwar (Rs 100,000), general secretary Dhan Bahadur Shahi (Rs 100,000) and treasurer Chakra Bahadur Thapa (Rs 100,000).

Likewise, Om Narayan Jurujali, Tika Devi Gurung and Rajendra Karki of MONA also provided assistance of Rs 100,000 each for the campaign.

“The fund raising campaign is on. We fully support the campaign to make Myagdi a model district of the nation in information and technology’, said Treasurer Chakra Bahadur Thapa. RSS
