PM Oli responds to lawmakers’ queries over government’s policies and programmes
Kathmandu / May 13: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has called on all the bodies concerned to gear up for the successful implementation of the government new policies and programmes without any doubt.
In his response to queries of lawmakers about the policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2073-74 BS, the Prime Minister said proposals registered at the Legislature-Parliament, seeking amendments to the policies and programmes and lawmakers’ queries about it, would eventually help in its implementation.
The new policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal had come as the government new vision and people’s aspirations for nation building, he argued, calling on and all to support it. There is no specific reason for anyone not to support the government fresh policies and programmes, he argued.
Underlining the need of taking collective efforts to make the post earthquake-reconstruction campaign successful, attain self-reliant economy and take the country towards the path of prosperity, the Prime Minister said through the new policies and programmes, the government has assimilated the concept of balanced regional development.
He was of the view of sorting out the disputed issues over the fresh demarcation of federal provinces on the basis of political consent. The government was effortful to resolve the problems through talks and consensus, he added.
He further informed the House that construction of safe shelter for the earthquake survivors has already begun in the 11 most affected districts.
Laying an emphasis on holding the long-halted local elections as soon as possible, the Prime Minister called on the political parties to help create atmosphere conducive for conducting the election as per the government plan and to fight against corruption with accelerating the development endevours. The government is always aware of bringing the peace agreement and transitional justice into practice.
Achieving high economic growth rate and increment of investment in the agro, tourism and energy sectors are included in the government policies and programmes, he said, backing the possibility of producing 10,000 megawatts of electricity within a decade.
The Rastrapati Mahila Karyakram (President Women Programme) that has been included in the government policies and programmes is meant for the upliftment of women and is for their respect and it is brought for the enforcement, as said by the Prime Minister.
He further said we are capable of constructing the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track with the use of domestic technology and investment.
Stating that the latest agreements signed by Nepal with India and China are in the interests of the nation, he said the government is committed to establishing the international relations in the interests of the nation, the Prime Minister pledged not to leave any stone unturned to depoliticise the judiciary.
