Economic growth rate to be pushed up to 6.5 per cent: PM
Kathmandu / May 17: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said the economic growth rate would be pushed up to 6.5 per cent in the coming Fiscal Year.
Inaugurating the first meeting of All Nepal Women’s Association (ANWA) National Council here on Tuesday, he said the country would enter the phase of prosperity and economic growth from the next Fiscal Year and the budget would open up many paths to development.
“Now, nobody can stop Nepal from moving towards progress. Nepal would march ahead as a dignified, prosperous and developed country,” the Prime Minister declared.
PM Oli said employment opportunities would be created from the bottom and thousands of people in village after village given jobs simultaneously.
Stating that new transit points would be opened for shipping of cargo, he said the government would acquire a harbour after some time and also operate it.
“We ourselves will buy ship and bring goods into the country within three days. Ships flying the Nepali flag will sail in the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean,” he said.
The Prime Minister, who is also the CPN (UML) chairman, stated that the reconstruction works have been moved ahead in a speedy manner and the government was mobilizing volunteers for this purpose for 15 days from May 20.
More than 200 women delegates from across the country are participating in the ANWA council meeting which will last until Wednesday. ANWA is the women wing of the ruling CPN (UML). RSS
