International Conference on Mathematics and Applications from May 26
Kathmandu / May 19: The Nepal Mathematical Society (NMS), the Association of Nepalese Mathematicians in America (ANMA), the Central Department of Mathematics (CDM) at Tribhuvan University, and Mathematics Division at Kathmandu University (KU) are jointly organizing an international conference on Applications of Mathematics to Nonlinear Sciences (AMNS-2016) in Kathmandu on May 26-29.
A statement issued by the organizers informed that the conference is going to be held at Nepal Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management (NATHM). It provides a forum to a diverse group of scientists in the applications of Mathematics to Natural and Health Sciences, Engineering and Finance. The specific areas include Analysis, Topology, Mathematics Education, Statistics, Big-data, Optimization, Operation Research, Quantitative Finance, Mathematical Biology, Biomedical Science, Biophysics, Geophysics and Public Health.
In the conference, 21 posters, 97 invited and contributed, 16 plenary and special invited and 5 principal speakers have been confirmed form worldwide including Nepal (50), USA (29), India (34), Sri Lanka (5), Germany, UK, Korea, Portugal, Taiwan, Malaysia, South Africa, Turkey, Hongkong, Bangladesh and Chech. The principal speakers include Dongho Chae (Korea), Gerhard Pfister (Germany), Ratnasingham Shivaji (USA), Lindi M. Wahl (Canada) and Jiahong Wu (USA). More than 200 mathematicians from Nepal and abroad are participating in the conference.
This conference not only brings the mathematicians and scientists around the globe together, but also helps to upgrade the mathematical research activities in Nepal and establish possible collaboration with the foreign scientific community, especially providing a great opportunity for young scientists.
