Ten Maoist splinters unified; Days of People’s victory begins: Chairman Dahal
Kathmandu / May 19: Different ten Maoist splinter parties have been unified under a new name- CPN (Maoist-Centre)- on Thursday.
The new name was endorsed by the dissolved UCPN (Maoist), CPN (Maoist-Revolutionary), CPN (Maoist), Revolutionary Communist Party, CPN (Maoist) Rebel faction, Naya Shakti Nepal and others.
At the unification announcement gathering, Ram Bahadur Thapa of the CPN (Maoist Revolutionary) said the unity among the Maoist parties has given birth to a new revolutionary party.
On the occasion, Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal said, the new party he was heading would take the communist movement to a new height and materialize the dream and aspirations of the Nepali people. “Learning lesson from the severance and split, we’ve come to stand together to accomplish the remaining revolutionary works,” he said, expressing hope that the new party would be successful to bring changes by addressing the issues of the families of disappeared, fighters, and the people injured in the conflict.
He further argued that the unity would boost the hope and confidence among the listless leaders and cadres. Admitting that the pro-people agenda of the Maoist party had waned, he said, “Days of the debacle and defeat are no more now.”
Dahal hailed the republic, secularism, proportional inclusiveness as the achievements of the party. He also ruled out the possibility of the restoration of the monarchy.
According to him, implementation of constitution is a priority for the party. RSS
