NEA Palpa branch collects Rs 800,000 in fine for stealing electricity

NEAPalpa / May 24: Palpa branch of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has collected Rs 800,000 in fine in one month’s period of April-13 to May-13 from those stealing electricity.

The NEA’s move is a part of the campaign launched in Kaseni, Somadi, Chhara, Bhubanpokhari, Chidipani, Chappani and Tansen Muncipality to control leakage and electricity stealing across the district.

The NEA’s district branch chief Kapil Raj Pandey said that during the monitoring, two rice mills and 14 houses were found stealing electricity.

Although the NEA branch declined to disclose the names of those found stealing electricity, the list of the guilty includes NEA employees, teachers, journalists and various political party leaders among others. RSS
