Charity show for ‘One house one blanket’ campaign
Kathmandu / May 28: Deepshikha Foundation organised a charity show of a movie ‘Love You Baba’ on Friday collect fund for a campaign ‘One house one blanket’ to earthquake survivors.
The Foundation organised the charity show at Kamalpokhari-based Big Movies with an objective of giving some relief to earthquake survivors from their pain. The movie was directed by eight-year-old Saugat Bista. ‘Guinness Book of the World’ has recorded Bista as the youngest movie director of the world.
Nepali Congress and former Deputy Prime Minister Sujata Koirala was there to watch the movie. On the occasion, Koirala thanked the Foundation for its charity show with an objective of helping earthquake survivors.
She said, “I am ready to provide support for the same.” Registering an organisation, Deepshikha Khadka has been collecting different types of support reaching door steps of people with an objective of providing help to quake survivors.
Recalling that many people lost their lives and many sustained injuries in the April 25 earthquake, Foundation Chairperson Khadka said that she has been involving in social work with an objective of helping earthquake survivors with her little initiatives.
The Foundation has already distributed different types of good worth Rs 2.5 million to quake survivors of different districts including Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk and Gorkha as well as providing free education to 10 children of earthquake victims.
Sundar Tamang provided Rs 100,000 to Foundation through NC leader Koirala. People from different sectors including Nepal Student Union President Ranjit Karna, Chairman of Film Association Ram Keshar Bogati, singer Rajesh Payel Rai and Taekwondo player Deepak Bista were present on the occasion. RSS
