More than 81,000 tourists visit CNP

ChitwanPackageChitwan / June 24: As many as 81,813 tourists have visited the famed Chitwan National Park (CNP) during the last 11 months of the current fiscal year.

Among them 71,204 entered through the Sauraha point while 10, 609 entered through the remaining points, CNP data shows.

Majority of the visitors entered through the Sauraha point due to the facilities of hotel and other services on offer there. “Last year 87 per cent tourists visited the Park through Sauraha,” CPN Information Officer, Nurendra Aryal said.

Apart from Sauraha tourists enter CNP through Sunachuri, Khagendra Malli, Ghadgai, Kasara, Bankatta, Bhimle, Laukhani, Amaltari and Kajauli entrance points.

The CNP has collected revenue of Rs 120 million from the tourists’ visit. “Rs 80 million revenue from entrance fee was collected,” CNP Ranger, Rishiram Dhakal said. RSS
