100 households at risk of displacement in Parbat

Parbat / Aug. 10: As many as 100 families in Parbat district are at risk of displacement due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall.

According to Chief District Officer Shambu Prasad Marasini, floods have displaced a dozen of families in the district so far.

Six households at Majhphant have been completely displaced.

CDO Marasini said that 21 families at Bhangara-2; 22 at Deurali-6; 25 at Kushma Municipality-1 and 25 at Maldhunga are at high risk of displacement.

The District Natural Disaster Committee said that seven families at Banskharka and 25 at Majhphant are at high risk of landslides.

Preparations are underway to shift them to safer places.

It has been learned that Ankita Tamang (12) had died and eight others were injured when a landslide buried the building of Dhaulagiri Cotton Factory at Majhphant on July 27. RSS
