Nawalparasi / Oct 29: Around 100 children have disappeared from the district in the past three years, said data with the District Police Office.

DPO Spokesperson Bishnu Hari Koirala made this revelation at the children conference in collaboration with local Jagrit Children and Youth Sarokar Kendra Nepal and a dozen aid agencies in the district.

Meanwhile at the meeting, concerned authorities blamed the lack of education and strong and efficient mechanism to curb such incidents for the situation.

Likewise, lawmaker Krishna Poudel said he was working actively to raise the issue of violence against children in Parliament.

Also on the occasion, the conference issued a seven-point declaration which includes commitments to curb violence against children, take action against hte guilty, book the guilty involved in Kawasoti incident and implement laws related to children among others. RSS
