‘Mutual trust inevitable for trilateral cooperation’

Kathmandu / Jan 18: Intellectuals from Nepal and China have said that mutual trust is inevitable for trilateral cooperation and collaboration between Nepal, China and India.

Speaking at the second day of the ‘China-Nepal Intellectual Group Conference’ organised by the Xinhua News Agency and Huawei University of China, they emphasized on the need to promote mutual trust and partnership between the three immediate neighbours.

Presenting a working paper on Nepal-China relations and One belt-One road initiative, Prof. Lee Tao of the South Asia Study Centre of the Sichuan University said road network could link China to south Asia, and also help Nepal utilize its abundant natural resources for economic development.

Former Attorney General Yubaraj Sangraula said support of China was essential in order to stop Nepal from becoming a playground of any side and called for more Chinese assistance in the socio-economic development of Nepal.

Former Secretary Tulasi Prasad Sitaula, development expert Surya Raj Acharya and other speakers said that the one belt one road initiative was not fully accelerated in Nepal and India due to differences over some matters. RSS
