Six of single family taken ill after consuming toxic mushroom

Toxic MushroomNuwakot / April 6: Six persons of a single family fell ill after consuming toxic mushroom at Ranitaar of Likhu Rural Municipality-4 in Nuwakot district on Wednesday.

Victims include Padam Bahadur Rai (64), his wife Junkiri Rai (64), son Rakesh Rai (23), daughter-in-law Dhoma Rai (21), grandsons Rohan Rai (4) and Rojan Rai (1), informed Superintendent of Police Dev Bahadur Bohara at the Nuwakot District Police Office.

Padam Bahadur and Junkiri are receiving treatment at the District Hospital. Others are critical and are receiving treatment at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj.

The family had consumed the mushroom in dinner last night after which they experienced dizziness, headache, nausea and vomiting. They were rushed to a hospital at midnight. RSS
