CPN chairs Oli-Dahal meet; ‘Intervention not acceptable’: Deuwa

Kathmandu / June 2: Chairmen duos of Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal have held a meeting at Baluwatar on Sunday. The chairs duo met at the time when a fresh debate on power-sharing within the ruling party had surfaced on social media platforms as a section of leaders within the party circulated a five-point agreement reportedly signed before the merger of the two communist entities to form the NCP a year ago.

According to a source at Baluwatar informed that the meeting is said to be focused on calling the meeting of the party secretariat.

Meanwhile, Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that intervention on the press, judiciary and human rights would not be acceptable to the NC.

At a press meet organized by Rupandehi chapter of Nepal Press Union at Bhairahawa airport on Sunday, NC President Deuba said, ‘The government has been making interference in all places. It has also been interfering on press freedom, independent judiciary and human rights commission.

This move would not be accepted at any cost.” Protesting the government’s move, he said that the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) should carry out an investigation on various issues including wide-body and Baluwatar land.
