Non-resident Nepalis to help build their motherland

New York / October 1: The Non-resident Nepalis in the US have proposed to collaborate for the development of their motherland.

The proposal by Non-Resident Nepalis National Coordination Council, US (NRN NCC, US) was made before Deputy Prime Minister Prakash Man Singh, who is here to attend the 70th General Assembly of the United Nations.

On the occasion, the NRN NCC office-bearers also expressed gratitude towards the government of Nepal for making provision of special citizenship for the NRNs. The NRN NCC has also expressed the commitment to move ahead with a coordinated action plan and working policy to further its working relations with the government of Nepal.

Further details are expected to be agreed following talks between Nepal’s Representative to the UN, and the office-bearers of the NRN NCC.

Likewise, NRN US will collaborate with Nepal Government in carrying out cultural, religious, lingual, literary, educational and other apolitical programmes and as well as in setting up office of the consul general in areas with dense population of NRNs, according to NRN US Chair Ganesh Poudel. (RSS)
