Four-nation championship: Nepal into the final


Kathmandu / Feb 20: Nepal has entered the finals of the International Women’s Football Championship underway in the capital.

Nepal booked a place in the final match of the competition one game ahead of schedule after defeating Lebanon 1-0 in match played under lights at the Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor today.

Ace striker Sabitra Bhandari scored the only goal of the match, in the 42nd minute of the first half. The strike by Sabitra was deflected by Lebanese player Farah into the goal post. With this result, Nepal has so far collected 6 points.

Myanmar has also entered the finals one game ahead of schedule in the competition. In the first match of today, Myanmar defeated Kyrgyzstan by 5-0.

Nepal will play Myanmar on February 23. The match will be start at 6:00 pm. Similarly, the first match to be held on the same day at 2 pm will be between Lebanon and Kyrgyzstan. RSS
